Mick Sell Racing is sad to report that today we lost a horse that showed a lot of promise in his first start for the stable in Golden Assassin. After just being nosed out for a win in his Donald race in a tough head to head competition where the finish got very tight for his third placing Assassin went to Traralgon today in a race we believed he would be very hard to beat. Unfortunately Assassin fractured his shoulder and had to be humanely euthanised. We are shattered at this loss and express condolences to the Kitsons. Assassin was a lovely big horse that had plenty of scope and a pleasure to take to the races and handle at home. It was devastating to leave without him  and a hard thing to comprehend bringing back an empty bridle. As everyone is aware we have had a pretty rough trot lately and to have to lose a horse is heartbreaking to all staff and family but we must thank all connections to Assassin for the opportunity to have worked with the kind hearted big chestnut who put in so much effort and heart.
