Mobamba is dear to our hearts having trained his mum and had a number of others from her dad. He hadn’t really put it together yet at 3 until we took him to his home track at Kyneton for a run.
Starting at 81-1, most punters didn’t give him a chance but we had a idea he might just be a crazy chance to break his maiden and was certainly over the odds.
He got a peach of a ride in running and got out at just the right time with Robbo hard at work to keep his mind on the job. He was tiring late but held on gamely to get up and pay off big time for those who had something on him. He also picked up some nice Super Vobis money to add to the pot.
Hopefully this will now give him the confidence to keep winning when he gets back from his well deserved spell.
